Nia and Olive came to Woodlands together from a multi-cat household that could no longer cope, bringing with them a shared family of five kittens between them.  Since arriving, these two 1-year-old girls have shown just how far generosity can stretch, choosing to co-parent their combined litter side by side rather than each sticking rigidly to their own babies.

Nia is the more outgoing of the pair, loving a fuss and coming straight over for attention and affection whenever she gets the chance. She's remarkably attentive to all five kittens, not just her own, and is eating really well as she keeps up with the demands of motherhood. Olive is a little more reserved by nature and started out shy, but she's really come out of her shell over the past week, growing in confidence as she settles into sanctuary life. Watching the two of them share the care of their kittens is a lovely reminder of how adaptable and big-hearted cats can be.

Both girls are currently focused on raising their kittens and will need to remain at Woodlands until the litter is weaned and both mums have been spayed. Once ready, they'll be looking for a home suited to indoor living, or one well away from busy roads, where they can settle without their family responsibilities and simply be cared for themselves.

Nia and Olive are asking for patience while they finish the job they've taken on together, but they'll be worth the wait. Two mums who chose partnership over instinct, sharing the load and the love for five kittens that weren't originally both theirs - that's the kind of quality that speaks for itself. Anyone who welcomes Nia or Olive into their home will be getting a warm, loving cat with a proven capacity for care.
