Last summer, we cared for 88% more cats than the year before. It wasn't a freak occurrance. Not a bad run of luck. It is now a pattern - and it's getting worse.
We're seeing things we haven't seen before. More families surrendering cats they can no longer afford to keep. More kittens born from cats that were never neutered. More calls about cats that have been breeding unchecked for months - sometimes years.
Last month, we rescued 26 cats from a single house.
Twenty-six. From one address. From one cat. Years of uncontrolled breeding, nowhere to go, no one to help until we got the call.
We took them all in. That's our mission and our passion. But every cat that comes through our door needs a vet check, vaccinations, neutering if they haven't been already, and weeks of care before they're ready for a new home. That costs money, and this summer we're going to need more of it than ever. That's why we have launched this campaign for compassionate animal lovers who want to change the lives of those who've suffered.
100 Cats in 100 Days
Starting in June, every cat that arrives at Woodlands this summer becomes part of this campaign. And every donor who gives gets assigned to one of these vulnerable rescue cases.
Not cats in general. Not a fund. A specific cat - yours.
You'll get an email introducing them: where they came from, what state they arrived in, what care they need. Then you'll follow their journey - from that first frightened day in a new pen, through the small milestones that matter (eating properly, letting someone near them, learning to play again), right through to the day they go home.
Because they will go to a loving new home. That's the what we exist for. And when they do, you'll be the first to know, and first to see the results of your compassion in action. In a life you've helped transform beyond measure.
How it works
Choose your amount. We need to raise £400 for every cat that we rescue - that covers their vet check on arrival, vaccinations, microchipping, neutering, and up to eight weeks of food and care. You don't have to give the full amount yourself. A group of forty people giving £10 each funds one cat just as well.
Get your cat. Once your donation is confirmed, you'll be assigned to a specific cat. If you're giving with others, you'll share the same cat - and the same updates.
Follow the journey. You'll be kept up to date with emails. pictures and videos over the course of the cat's rehabilitation. Real updates from the people caring for them. No filler. No stock photos. Just honest news about how your rescued cat is getting on, as told by the team looking after them every day.
What each £400 covers
