Woodlands Community Hubs - Connecting animal and human welfare

About our Hubs
Woodlands Hubs are a new community fundraising initiative to help our work in the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of vulnerable and neglected animals. With two hubs currently operating in Chorley and Skelmersdale we offer a variety of activities to support human and animal welfare:
  • Retail of preloved items such as toys, clothes, books, furniture and vintage goods.
  • On site crafting space for local groups to produce items to help raise funds. (Skelmersdale only)
  • Animal welfare education and up close encounters.
  • Social prescribing activities to support mental health and wellbeing.
  • Pet food banks to assist cat and dog owners struggling with the cost of living.

Our Fair Price Promise

How buying from our hub helps...

Microchipping

Every cat and kitten rescued or raised by Woodlands is microchipped. Each one costs £15 so your purchase could contribute towards this.

Pen maintenance

At an average cost of £12 per 750ml of paint your purchases could help to ensure our animals live in a safe, stimulating, and maintained environment.

Grazing and bedding

A small bale of hay to be used as food or bedding for our goats, donkey or ponies costs £5 per bale. So spending £5 at our hub could buy a single bale.

Spaying & Neutering

Spaying is crucial in stopping unwanted litters, and helps alleviate unnecessary pressures on rescue centres like ours. with a minimum cost of £60 per spay / neuter your purchases could help to prevent unwanted pregnancies and help control the stray cat population.

Vaccinations

Before they can be rehomed our kittens require two vaccinations at a total cost of £40 per kitten. So your support could help kittens be ready for their new home.

Emergency vet bills

Most of our rescues come to us as a result of neglect. This often means they need veterinary intervention. These treatments and bills can often run into thousands of pounds!! Through shopping at the Hub you will help us to build funds for these unfortunate, rainy, days
