Eddie - loyal companion facing his second goodbye
Eddie knows Woodlands well – we successfully rehomed him before, and he went on to become a devoted companion to his owner. In September, he returned to us when that owner became unwell and unable to look after Eddie to the level he deserves, bringing Eddie's settled life to an abrupt and heartbreaking end through absolutely no fault of his own.
What's remarkable about this 4-year-old black and white shorthair is how his friendly, loyal nature has remained constant despite facing such upheaval for the second time in his life. Eddie has already proven he can adapt to a new home and form deep bonds with his people – his owner clearly treasured him, and the feeling was evidently mutual. That same capacity for devotion and companionship is simply waiting to be directed towards a new family who'll appreciate what a special cat he is.
Eddie would suit a home with older children where he can settle into the quiet routine he clearly thrives in. Perfect for indoor living away from busy roads, he's the sort of steady, reliable companion who'll reward patience and kindness with unwavering loyalty. Having already navigated one successful rehoming, Eddie knows how to be someone's best friend – he simply needs someone ready to be his.

Our Rehoming Process

Step One
Step Two
Home Check
After this, we will arrange an appointment with you to pick up your new friend, as well as the required food and litter which is available to purchase at our on-site shop.
Rehoming
From the initial appointment to collection usually takes between 7-10 days. When you come to collect your new cat(s), you will just need to sign the relevant paperwork, as well as paying the donation fee via our website. Prior to release all cats will have the necessary vaccinations and medical treatments - all signed off by our vet.
Step Three
Rehoming Rules
- We will not rehome an adult cat into a home where there are existing adult cats.
- We ensure that no cat or kitten is released to its new home until 48 hours after its vaccination.
- If there are other pets in the household i.e. dogs, we will normally recommend a kitten unless we have an adult cat who is used to living with dogs. Dogs are able to come to the Sanctuary to be introduced to the cat.
- All existing cats in any household must be neutered.
- All cats and kittens that leave Woodlands Animal Sanctuary must leave with the food and litter that they are currently using here, this can be purchased from our onsite shop.
