Eliza & Elspeth - littermate sisters ready to write their next chapter
Eliza and Elspeth came to Woodlands as strays, these two beautiful 9-week-old ginger and white sisters arriving together with no home to call their own. At such a tender age, they should have been settled into loving families with security and comfort, but instead they were facing an uncertain future on the streets. Yet through it all, they had each other - two littermates clinging together for survival, support, and the reassurance that comes from having a sibling who truly understands. Now, these resilient young girls are ready to leave their stray days behind and discover what it means to have a real home, a real bed, and real people who will cherish them.
What makes Eliza and Elspeth so endearing is how their initial shyness masks the affectionate souls waiting beneath. When they first arrived, they were understandably cautious about the world - but when picked up, both girls snuggle in beautifully, revealing that they're actually deeply cuddly and ready to trust once they feel safe. This is a perfect example of how shyness isn't unfriendliness; it's simply caution born from uncertainty. Their willingness to snuggle when held tells us everything we need to know about their fundamental sweetness and their capacity for affection. Their playful nature is beginning to emerge as they settle, showing the vibrant personalities that were always there waiting to shine.
Eliza and Elspeth are bonded littermates who will be rehomed together as the devoted pair they are. Their mutual dependence on each other means they provide constant entertainment, comfort, and security - they play together, groom each other, and curl up for naps as a team. Their comfort with other cats suggests they're naturally sociable, though what matters most is that they have each other. At just 9 weeks old, these girls are at that perfect age where they're full of kitten energy and ready to bond deeply with their new family while always having their sister nearby for familiar comfort. They would thrive with outdoor access in a quiet area away from busy roads, or suit indoor living if their new family prefers.
Eliza and Elspeth have already shown remarkable resilience in their short lives - surviving as strays, arriving frightened and uncertain, and still maintaining their capacity for affection and trust. These lovely girls deserve a home where they'll stay together forever, where their initial shyness will be met with patience and gentle handling, and where they'll be given the chance to blossom into the confident, loving companions they're already becoming. For a family ready to welcome two bonded littermate sisters and help them transform from cautious survivors into thriving, playful kittens surrounded by love and security, Eliza and Elspeth are waiting to show you just how rewarding it is to give two young sisters their forever home.

Our Rehoming Process
Application & Appointment
Step One
Step Two
Home Check
After this, we will arrange an appointment with you to pick up your new friend, as well as the required food and litter which is available to purchase at our on-site shop.
Rehoming
From the initial appointment to collection usually takes between 7-10 days. When you come to collect your new cat(s), you will just need to sign the relevant paperwork, as well as paying the donation fee via our website. Prior to release all cats will have the necessary vaccinations and medical treatments - all signed off by our vet.
Step Three
Rehoming Rules
- We will not rehome an adult cat into a home where there are existing adult cats.
- We won't home single kittens without another cat present. Rehoming a single kitten doesn't meet welfare standards as it will have no social interaction with other cats. This means that if you already have an adult you can have one kitten. If you don't have an adult cat, you can take an established adult cat or two kittens.
- We ensure that no cat or kitten is released to its new home until 48 hours after its vaccination.
- If there are other pets in the household i.e. dogs, we will normally recommend a kitten unless we have an adult cat who is used to living with dogs. Dogs are able to come to the Sanctuary to be introduced to the cat.
- All existing cats in any household must be neutered.
- All cats and kittens that leave Woodlands Animal Sanctuary must leave with the food and litter that they are currently using here, this can be purchased from our onsite shop.
