Syd - little survivor with a huge heart
Syd was handed into a Chorley vet just a week ago as a stray kitten without his mum, estimated to be around 9 weeks old and clearly having had to fend for himself for some time. Despite being rather skinny from his solo adventures, this beautiful black and white domestic shorthair has shown remarkable resilience and an incredibly trusting nature that speaks volumes about his character.
What's immediately striking about Syd is how friendly and affectionate he remains despite his challenging start. He absolutely loves cuddles and seems to find genuine comfort in human contact, as if he instinctively knows that people mean safety and warmth. His playful nature is already beginning to emerge as he settles into care, and with proper nurturing over the coming weeks, he'll soon reach the healthy weight that matches his enormous personality.
Syd would be delighted with children of any age and is perfectly suited to indoor living, though he's adaptable enough to manage near reasonably busy roads when he's older. This lovely chap is proving that sometimes the cats who've had the roughest starts make the most grateful and devoted companions. Having shown such trust in people despite being on his own so young, he's ready to repay that faith with a lifetime of affection for the family who gives him his second chance.

After this, we will arrange an appointment with you to pick up your new friend, as well as the required food and litter which is available to purchase at our on-site shop.
Rehoming
From the initial appointment to collection usually takes between 7-10 days. When you come to collect your new cat(s), you will just need to sign the relevant paperwork, as well as paying the donation fee via our website. Prior to release all cats will have the necessary vaccinations and medical treatments - all signed off by our vet.

Rehoming Rules
- We will not rehome an adult cat into a home where there are existing adult cats.
- We ensure that no cat or kitten is released to its new home until 48 hours after its vaccination.
- If there are other pets in the household i.e. dogs, we will normally recommend a kitten unless we have an adult cat who is used to living with dogs. Dogs are able to come to the Sanctuary to be introduced to the cat.
- All existing cats in any household must be neutered.
- All cats and kittens that leave Woodlands Animal Sanctuary must leave with the food and litter that they are currently using here, this can be purchased from our onsite shop.
