George
George is a leopard tortoise who was handed in a few years ago. His previous owners simply not able to provide the level of care and dedication that a teenage tortoise needs.
Today George spends most of his time patrolling the cattery and entertaining and befuddling the guests there - most of whom have never seen what looks like a giant mobile rock. When he's not on security duty he's looking for a warm corner to snooze in.
Sometimes he manages to squeeze under a footstool and, when he wakes up from his latest doze, forgets where he's sleeping so potters off on patrol again with the footstool on his back. Much to the amusement of our staff, and confusement of our cattery guests.
When he's not on security or snooze detail George is a star feature of our care home and school visits - where he loves nothing more than a good shell scratching.
