Rescue, Rehabilitation and Rehoming
As West Lancashire's only multi-species sanctuary, for almost 20 years we have been rescuing vulnerable, neglected and abused animals. Taking them into our care for rehabilitation, recovery and, where possible, rehoming them into loving environments.
Your support means that sad stories can have a happy ending, lives that would have otherwise been lost are saved, and traumatic experiences are replaced with love, comfort and joy.

Tom
In early November this year, 7 week old kitten Tom was saved from being drowned by a member of the public, along with his brother Jerry.
Both were infested with fleas and half of their natural weight.
As well as needing special diets and regular around the clock feeds, both will need lots of cuddle time and socialising with our team to build the confidence and required skills so that they are ready to settle into a new life.
Can you help us to rescue more kittens like Tom with a small monthly gift?

Wilma and Fred
Found abandoned in a local factory, and on the brink of death, Fred and Wilma were brought into Woodlands in a perilous state.
The two newly born kittens were severely malnourished, weak, flea bitten and with patches of red skin; requiring immediate treatment and around the clock care. Thankfully with lots of comfort and compassionate care they both began to improve. After three months both were ready to be rehomed and soon found a loving family.

Ian
Ian was found in am extremely poor state of health and severely malnourished.
To make his chances of survival even slimmer some youths had doused him in petrol and he had possibly ingested some - making feeding to increase his weight and get valuable nutrients more difficult.
Undergoing over 25 different treatments and operations to heal his injuries, Ian spent lots of time with carers learning to socialise and build confidence; finally clear to be rehomed after 8 months of rehabilitation.

How your support will help...
Microchipping
Every cat and kitten rescued or raised by Woodlands is microchipped. Each procedure costs £15.
Pen maintenance
At an average cost of £12 per 750ml of paint your donation could help us to ensure our animals live in a safe, stimulating, and maintained environment.
Grazing and bedding
A small bale of hay to be used as food or bedding for our goats, donkey or ponies costs £5 per bale.
Spaying & Neutering
Spaying is crucial in stopping unwanted litters, and helps alleviate unnecessary pressures on rescue centres like ours. On average this procedure costs £90 per spay
Vaccinations
Before they can be rehomed our kittens require two vaccinations at a total cost of £40 per kitten.
Emergency vet bills
Most of our rescues come to us as a result of neglect. This often means they need veterinary intervention. These treatments and bills can often run into thousands of pounds!! Your support will help us to build funds for these unfortunate, rainy, days
