Anna, Elsa and Olaf

Anna, Elsa & Olaf
Arrived: June 2024
Anna turned up last April with two tiny kids in tow. Elsa and Olaf were only weeks old, still unsteady on their legs, and all three desperately needed somewhere safe. Their previous sanctuary had collapsed – the owner's health had given out, through no fault of anyone's. Although these were just three of a nationwide rescue of 32 goats that Woodlands was co-ordinating, we took one look at this little family and knew Woodlands would have to be their home.
We got them home, got them settled, got them fed, started making plans. Then Anna crashed. She'd retained material from the birth and it nearly finished her. Several vet visits, treatments - it was touch and go for a bit - but thankfully she pulled through.
These days, all three spend their time doing what goats do best: climbing anything climbable, demolishing hedgerows, treating enrichment toys like personal challenges. The kids have become minor celebrities at our open days – enthusiastic, fearless, absolutely convinced every visitor's come specifically to admire them.
