Since the Coronavirus and resulting social restrictions, we have taken our lead from the government and other leading organisations as to how best to continue providing the service we do.  The rehoming of cats and guinea-pigs had therefore ceased, in line with these guidelines.  However, DERFA have now released updated guidelines, which allows us to once again rehome animals, albeit through a slightly altered process, which still adheres to the Social Distancing guidelines.

If you are a supporter of Woodlands Animal Sanctuary or even just someone who cares about nature and wildlife you will probably already know that if you see a hedgehog out during daylight hours, then something it wrong with it.  Hedgehogs are nocturnal and as such should only be out and about during the hours of darkness.

Building work has been going on at Woodlands Animal Sanctuary for almost a month now on our new cattery, made possible by an incredibly generous grant from Support Adoption for Pets; and what isn’t under water is going very well!

Our team at Woodlands Animal Sanctuary are currently enjoying the company of several cats who are between the ages of 5 & 15.  However, the dream isn’t for these cats to live out their days in a pen in a shelter.  But for them to have another chance of happiness in a house they can call their own, with a knee to cuddle up on so they are never alone.

We at Woodlands Animal Sanctuary are extremely pleased and proud to announce that we have just been presented with a cheque from Pets at Home Mariners Way, Preston, for over £2000.00 which has been collected from the joint fundraising done last year including the summer appeal and the Santa Paws Christmas appeal.  We would like to thank Dave and the rest of the team from Pets at Home Preston so much for all their support.
