Saved from harm

Tom

Tom

In early November this year, 7 week old kitten Tom was saved from being drowned by a member of the public, along with his brother Jerry.

Both were infested with fleas and half of their natural weight.

As well as needing special diets and regular around the clock feeds, both will need lots of cuddle time and socialising with our team to build the confidence and required skills so that they are ready to settle into a new life.

Can you help us to rescue more kittens like Tom with a small monthly gift?
Wilma and Fred

Wilma and Fred

Found abandoned in a local factory, and on the brink of death, Fred and Wilma were brought into Woodlands in a perilous state.

The two newly born kittens were severely malnourished, weak, flea bitten and with patches of red skin; requiring immediate treatment and around the clock care. Thankfully with lots of comfort and compassionate care they both began to improve. After three months both were ready to be rehomed and soon found a loving family.

Ian

Ian

Ian was found in am extremely poor state of health and severely malnourished.

To make his chances of survival even slimmer some youths had doused him in petrol and he had possibly ingested some - making feeding to increase his weight and get valuable nutrients more difficult.

Undergoing over 25 different treatments and operations to heal his injuries, Ian spent lots of time with carers learning to socialise and build confidence; finally clear to be rehomed after 8 months of rehabilitation.

Sponsor our animals

Running Woodlands costs in excess of £1,000 per day. By becoming a sponsor your contribution will help us to allocate support to our animals where it is most immediately needed such as urgent and unexpected vetinarary treatments, or vital supplies.

Regular sponsorship contributions also help us to better plan our finances, and proactively support our rescue efforts simply because we know what money we have available to undertake whatever work is needed. So thank you for choosing to support our animals, and our future rescues in this way.

We have a range of sponsorship packages available, and you can choose to have updates on your favourite Woodlands animal type, or have updates on all of our animals. Features incorporated within the various packages include:

  • Quarterly newsletter with latest updates
  • Member access to our website where you can view lots of extra photos and videos of our animals.
  • Discounts of up to 20% off on any tickets for any open day event, half term holiday club, tea & tours, animal carer for a day and more...
  • Free entry into our sponsors’ Tea and tour day where you get to see the sanctuary and have your picture taken with your favourite animal.
  • Sponsorship pack.

How your sponsorships will help...

Microchipping

Every cat and kitten rescued or raised by Woodlands is microchipped. Each one costs £15 so a gold sponsorship could microchip 8 cats.

Pen maintenance

At an average cost of £12 per 750ml of paint a gold sponsorship could buy 7 litres of animal friendly paint to help ensure our animals live in a safe, stimulating, and maintained environment.

Grazing and bedding

A small bale of hay to be used as food or bedding for our goats, donkey or ponies costs £5 per bale. A gold sponsorship could buy 24 bales.

Spaying & Neutering

Spaying is crucial in stopping unwanted litters, and helps alleviate unnecessary pressures on rescue centres like ours. At a minimum cost of £60 per spay / neuter a gold sponsorship could help us to spay two cats.

Vaccinations

Before they can be rehomed our kittens require two vaccinations at a total cost of £40 per kitten. A gold sponsorship could help to vaccinate 3 kittens.

Emergency vet bills

Most of our rescues come to us as a result of neglect. This often means they need veterinary intervention. These treatments and bills can often run into thousands of pounds!! You sponsorship will help us to build funds for these unfortunate, rainy, days
